Everyone loves popsicles in the summer, right?
I know I sure do! In fact most people I know love a cool popsicle on a hot summer day! One of my favorite thing about my childhood summers was when my mom called us to the door and handed us a cool sweet popsicle each! She either made them herself or got them from the local Schwan’s guy (this was in Calgary at the time) and I would take mine in the back yard, lay on the hammock and read a book.
At the moment we are going through a heatwave with temperatures reaching over 40°C (104°F) in some parts of the Maritimes! It was a balmy 35°C (95°F) in my house today with 3 ceiling fans going and I only have a tiny 2 bedroom house and so I decided to make some cherry coke popsicles today making me think about doing a round-up of popsicle recipes.
So, here are the 10 summer popsicle ideas that I rounded up! You can click the header link or link within the post to go to their websites for the recipes.
One of my favorite drinks as a child, especially in summer, though I would not say no to them at any time of the year, was Shirley Temples. What better way to bring back your childhood or turn your child’s favourite drink into a popsicle!
These bright colourful fun popsicles contain real fruit and/or veggies/greens and are made from homemade smoothies! I just love the bright fun colours in this popsicle!
These homemade fudgesicles contain only 5 easy ingredients and look simply delicious! Nothing better than a fudgy cold treat on a sweltering hot day and who doesn’t love fudge! These are sure to be a hit with any chocolate lover in your life.
These are not the exact popsicles I made today because I made mine using Cherry Vanilla Coke Zero as I am diabetic and typically try to avoid sugar as much as possible, but these look so good and I love that they are made with real maraschino cherries!
My two favorite pop (soda) flavours are Root Beer (has to be A&W) or Cherry Coke Zero/Cherry Vanilla Coke Zero. When I saw this recipe I knew I would have to try it! Not just A&W Root Beer, but A&W Root Beer Float popsicles! I can’t really imagine anything better than that! Well, other than maybe an actual A&W Root Beer Float!
This next one was obviously made with me in mind or at least likely someone like me. I grew up in the 80s and pudding pops were something we survived off of during the summer where I lived. I love the texture and mild flavour of them and they don’t melt in the same way a normal popsicle does.
I don’t know about anyone else but I love watermelon! And I love kiwi. Good thing because this popsicle has both! Bright, colourful, yummy, and refreshing! Can you just imagine grabbing one of these?
This popsicle is as beautiful as a Nova Scotia sunset and so tasty! It’s only got 4 ingredients is really simple to make and is sweetened with maple syrup!
Gotta have one just for the adults right? Are you having a tropical themed party? Then this popsicle is perfect! Made with tequila so don’t give this one to the kids!
Last but not least, for the coffee lover, this 3 ingredient popsicle is super easy and customizable! Make it the way you would make your coffee as the site says!
